Who am I?

I am an adopted son of God by the grace of God. I am loved and chosen and called through the gospel of Jesus Christ to live a life of purpose and good works for the glory of God. I am a member of Christ’s body and actively involved in a local church. I live my life according to a Biblical worldview. I am committed to serving people and helping them to walk worthy of God. I am honest, faithful, diligent, and a team player. I am married to my beautiful wife, Sharon, who is my greatest cheerleader, assisting me to carry out God’s calling in this earthly life.

What do I do?

I am the founder of Grace of Faith Press, a growing publishing imprint based in Johannesburg. We help authors self-publish with confidence and provide readers and families with wholesome, faith-building children’s books, fiction, and non-fiction.

Grace of Faith Press is honoured to publish and present The Threefold Cord of Gospel Ministry by David J. Brown. This publication marks an important milestone for our imprint as the first work entrusted to us by an author outside our founding team. It reflects our commitment to serving local authors and publishing high quality and professional resources for Christians.

David is a church-planter, pastor, professor, husband, father of four, and grandfather of thirteen. He earned his PhD in Christian Ethics from North-West University in South Africa. Together with his wife, Karin, he serves as a church planter with Biblical Ministries Worldwide (BMW) and ministers through 7 Rivers Outreach, reaching marginalized Zulu communities in rural areas south of Durban.
This short and accessible book invites Christians to rediscover the biblical pattern of gospel ministry modeled by Jesus Himself. It invites followers of Christ to recover a healthy balance between sharing Christ and showing Christ, between proclaiming the Great Commission and embodying the Great Commandment.

Book Endorsements

  • “Some people say that Christians should never be depressed. I take issue with that, being a quadriplegic who has battled cancer and struggles daily with pain. I love my Savior, am passionate about His Gospel, and enjoy the ministry He has given me. But that does not exclude me from occasionally stumbling into the miry pit of dark emotions. I enthusiastically endorse this book and recommend it to pastors, families, leaders, and Christian counselors!”

Joni Eareckson Tada, Director of Joni and Friends International Disability Center

  • “There is no better guide for a depressed person than someone who has been through that darkness, someone who is very wise, who is fighting for you, and who speaks with love. With this in mind, Bob is the ideal guide. And then to hear from his wife Mary—who loved him while he was barely recognizable as the man she married—is an added gift.”

Dr. Ed Welch, Faculty at CCEF, speaker, and author

  • “Bob Somerville has withstood the horrible agonies of profound depression, and he testifies that God's healing comfort is the only sure and effectual anchor for anyone adrift in those troubled waters. Bob is better qualified than anyone I know to deal with this difficult yet crucial subject. He writes with both keen biblical insight and tender empathy. I'm certain this volume will be helpful—not only for those who struggle with depression, but also for anyone trying to help a disconsolate friend or loved one.”

Dr. John MacArthur, former pastor/teacher Grace Community Church

  • With so many English Bible translations available today, one might expect Christians—even pastors—to have a clear understanding of why so many exist and why they differ from one another. Yet a surprising level of ignorance still surrounds this important subject. For this reason, I have sought to provide readers with a simple and accessible introduction, trusting that the Lord may use it to educate and equip His people.

For nearly two thousand years, Christians have attempted to solve the Riddle of the Restrainer. Some have identified the restrainer as the Roman Empire, Paul, the Holy Spirit working through the church, and even the Archangel Michael.

This book invites readers to consider a lesser–known interpretation: the Recapitulation Theory. This approach takes seriously the flow of Paul’s argument and the sequence of eschatological events in 2 Thessalonians 2.

  • "Michael Cameron’s careful exposition of 2 Thessalonians 2 provides a penetrating look into the “Riddle of the Restrainer.” He develops a biblical interpretation that emphasizes God’s sovereign control over redemptive history by employing the Recapitulation Theory. The attention to detail and faithfulness to Scripture are admirable. What is particularly striking is its practical focus, especially when it shifts from exegesis to contemporary relevance. This is a fascinating yet accessible read. This book is highly recommended for all levels of readership."
